Is there a way to force the password to be entered upon connecting, instead of allowing viewer to save it. Version 6.10.10.0.

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for your message.

If you enabled the "Save password" box for a connection in your address book, you should be able to connect/log in right away to that remote computer. I.e. the program won't prompt you for a password unless you provided an incorrect password and the program cannot log in.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, but I want that option disabled.  Something that would force a user to enter a password.

Hi Stephen,

Unfortunately, no. Even if we implemented such an option it would be in contradiction with the existing "Save password" option. Anyone who works with Viewer can change any settings in it. Therefore, implementing such a feature would require another user (superadmin) who could define settings/permissions for admin using the Viewer. This leads to unnecessary complication since Viewer is supposed to be used by admins/techs themselves in the first place.

There are other ways to enable stronger security, though. For example, you can enable two-factor authentication for your Hosts.

Hope that helps.
