Beta testing of the version 5.5 is now open. This post will be regularly updated with information on the progress towards the final release.

Beta 1 (released May 20, 2013):

  • Added: Auto reconnect during temporary network breakdowns
  • Added: A panel/window at the bottom right corner on the Host side with the list of currently connected Viewers. The remote user can close some or all of the connections. This panel is optional and can be enabled/disabled in the Host settings:

  • Added: New "Full screen" view mode. When this mode is on, the window frame/chrome is removed but no scaling occurs. If the remote monitor resolution is bigger than the local monitor resolution, scrolling is enabled. What was previously "Full screen" mode now renamed to "Full Screen Stretch":

  • Added: An option to erase/wipe Host settings from the remote PC when uninstalling.
  • Added: License Key Storage now shows the number of unused licenses left for each product key
  • Added: View mode switch icons have been added to the toolbar:

  • Added: Windows serial key is now displayed in the Inventory Manager report.
  • Improved: Program operation on Windows 8 is optimized to improve performance.
  • Improved: Error log now shows not only the error number but also additional information/explanation on the error.
  • Improved: "Capture sound" option is now included in the Connection Properties so you can enable it permanently for a selected address book entry:

  • Fixed: A bug that caused an "RDP over ID" connection to close when minimizing the RDP window.
  • Minor fixes and improvements.

Hello conrad,

Thanks for this news  :)
We personnaly expected the connected users list feature  :)

Some comments :
- User can close a connected user, but he hasn't the primary control on his mouse. It seems logical that the physical user has the primary control on his mouse/keyboard right ?
- User doesn't know who is trying to connect to his computer, can you add the login name + computer name ? (So, into the right-corner area too  ;) )
- Do you permit us to move the right-corner area ?

Best regards,
Thomas

Hi Thomas,  :)

In the future we are going to implement handing the mouse control over to the remote user when they touch their mouse.

User doesn't know who is trying to connect to his computer, can you add the login name + computer name ? (So, into the right-corner area too )

OK, we will add RUT Security login info (the logins that you create when using Multiple Users and Permissions feature) as well.

Do you permit us to move the right-corner area ?

Actually, the position of the window is automatically calculated depending on the remote monitor resolution. As of now it's not possible to manually edit the position, unfortunately.  :)

Hello,

Will this version resolve the issue of a client upgrade installing the start menu and virtual printer options even though the package created specifically states to NOT install the start menu or virtual printer?

Not yet, but we'll try to fix that by the Beta 2.

Hello,

Have you heard the keyboard bug with the actual version ? (not the beta)

Sometimes, the person who taking the control can't use the keyboard, only the mouse ; the full control is activated ; we have to close the full control window, then reopen it to fix the keyboard in full control mode.
In addition, sometimes after this bug appears, after closed the remote control, the admin can't use his keyboard... he has to reboot his computer.

Regards,
Thomas

Can you please specify the OS used on both sides and also provide Host logs? Here's an easy way to do it - just fill out this support request form and submit:

Thanks!

By the way, can you reproduce the same bug with the beta? If this is fixed in the beta it doesn't make sense to analyze the bug in 5.4.
