Ctrl + Alt + Del is not sent to the remote PC

Symptoms

Sending the Ctrl+Alt+Del key combination to a remote PC by clicking the dedicated toolbar icon in the Full Control mode doesn't work.

Solution

If the remote computer belongs in a domain, you may need to enable the Secure Attention Sequence (SAS) policy:

  1. Log in to the remote computer as a domain administrator.
  2. Open the Run dialog, type gpedit.msc and press Enter.
  3. In the left pane, expand ForestDomains, right-click on the target domain and select Create a GPO in this domain and Link it here.
  4. Right-click the newly created GPO and select Edit.
  5. In the left pane navigate to Computer ConfigurationAdministrative TemplatesWindows ComponentsWindows Logon Options.
  6. In the right pane, double-click Disable or enable software Secure Attention Sequence.
  7. Select the Enabled option at the top. In the Options section click the drop-down list and select Services and Ease of Access applications.
  8. Click OK and close the Group Policy Object Editor.
