Ticket-based technical support system

Ticket-based technical support system

We have introduced a new system for creating and managing support requests that you send to us. Now, in order to send a support ticket you need to register on the site - it's free and only requires a valid e-mail address. Then you should navigate to My Tickets and create a ticket by clicking on the Create New Ticket button.

One of the benefits of the new system is that you can now track/view all your support tickets in one place, on the My Tickets page. From there you can review and edit your existing tickets, create new ones and close a ticket when the issue has been resolved.

We would appreciate it if you could send us your feedback and suggestions.

Thank you!

Remote Utilities 5.6 with iOS/Android support has been released

Remote Utilities 5.6 with iOS/Android support has been released

The first ever mobile version of Remote Utilities - the Viewer for iOS and Android - is available for download. You can now access remote Hosts from your mobile device. Direct and mediated (Internet ID) connections are supported. And, most importantly, the mobile Viewer is absolutely free just like the desktop Viewer.

The Windows version of Remote Utilities has also been improved. Now when you launch the RDP connection mode the program uses the native RDP client. This makes RDP sessions less susceptible to errors and interruptions. In addition, the Agent module can now handle UAC prompts, provided that it is launched under an administrator account.

We have also added 11 new languages for the interface: Arabic, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Czech, Danish, Dutch, Italian, Korean, Norwegian, Swedish, and Turkish.

Finally, there are a number of other fixes and improvements. Please, refer to the Release notes page for details. This update is free for all users.

Important: for the mobile Viewer to work properly, you must update the Host to version 5.6.

Remote Utilities 5.4: Connection log in the Viewer

Remote Utilities 5.4: Connection log in the Viewer

Previously in this blog we wrote about myths of NAT traversal techniques. We said that “hole-punching” in itself does not guarantee a direct connection in all possible cases. If you want to access a remote PC over the Internet in today’s IPv4- and NAT-ruled world, you will inevitably have to use some kind of intermediary server to connect. In Remote Utilities this feature is called Internet ID and it has already saved our users tons of time and frustration because it allows them to bypass firewalls and routers easily.

RDP over ID is coming with version 5.4

As you have probably noticed, there is an RDP connection mode in Remote Utilities. You can use the Viewer as an RDP client and connect to an RDP server using a direct IP connection. This ability is very handy for those administrators who may wish to use RDP instead of Remote Utilities in some circumstances.
