Remote Shutdown

A separate Remote Shutdown connection mode in Remote Utilities enables you to shut down and restart a local or remote PC. You can perform remote shutdown in Windows 7 or Windows XP and in any other Windows version that conforms to the system requirements for the program.

Remote shutdown and remote restart

You can perform the following operations:

  • Remote restart
  • Shut down the remote computer
  • Lock the remote computer
  • Logoff the current user of the remote computer

To issue the remote shutdown command you need to either select this mode in the connection modes list to the right of the Viewer window or right click the mouse and select from the context menu.

Remember that Remote Utilities Server is a service that starts up automatically, so the remote PC will be available for you to connect to after it has been rebooted.
